Samuel Christopher Katru is a graduate researcher in the vaccine lab, with a Master of Science in Medical Biotechnology from the University of Illinois Chicago, College of Medicine Rockford. He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in biotechnology from GITAM University, India. He is passionate about exploring new advancements in science and worked on a tropical disease called Tropical Pulmonary Eosinophilia (TPE) and, identified and characterized a novel Nematode Pan Allergen (NPA) from Wuchereria bancrofti responsible for IgE response in human filarial TPE, which was presented at various scientific symposiums and conferences. His work was selected for the young investigator award at ASTMH 2022 annual meeting. He also received the Thermo Fisher Scientific Best Basic Research Poster Award at the UIC Health Science Campus Rockford’s 28th Annual Research Day.
