Discovery and Validation Lead, Principal Scientist, Single Cell Biology
Precision Medicine and Computational Biology, Sanofi US R&D
Giorgio Gaglia is the Discovery and Validation Lead in the Single Cell Biology cluster, within the Precision Medicine and Computational Biology functon in Sanofi US R&D. Giorgio has interdisciplinary background in pure mathematics (MMaths, Oxford University) and systems biology (PhD, Harvard Medical School). Giorgio’s academic research centered on applying quantitative biology approaches to (1) temporal dynamics of protein multimerization and aggregation in single cells (p53 and HSF1) and (2) the spatial organization of tumor microenvironment and its impact on tumor phenotypes. Giorgio joined Sanofi in January 2022 to establish and lead the Discovery and Validation group within the Single Cell Biology cluster. The group’s work leverages single cell genomics to fuel a wide range of Target ID, MoA and MoM programs in tight collaboration with all of Sanofi’s R&D Therapeutic Areas.
