PhD Candidate
McGill University, Canada
I am Mikhael Attias, PharnD and PhD Candidate in the Piccirillo lab at McGill University. I received my undergraduate education at the Faculte de Pharmacie de Paris, where I majored in Pharmaceutical sciences and specialized in industry and research. In parallel to his Pharmacy studies, I completed in 2016 a master’s degree in Immunology from the Pierre et Marie Curie University, with a specialization in innovative immunotherapies. My first lab experiences were in the field of type 1 diabetes, investigating preclinical tolerogenic strategies for disease prevention under the direction of Dr Roberto Mallone at the Cochin Institute and Dr Alberto Pugliese at the Diabetes Research Institute of the University of Miami. Ithen obtained my Doctorate of Pharmacy from the Faculte de Pharmacie de Paris in 2017, with a thesis on the clinical development of low-dose interleukin-2 therapy in type 1 diabetes. I joined the Piccirillo lab in 2018 as a PhD student and my project focuses on regulatory T cell dysregulation during checkpoint inhibition therapy.
