My name is Ana Lledo Delgado. I´m a postdoctoral associate at Dr Kevan Herold´s lab at Yale University. During my research and clinical training, I have been interested in understanding the biological complexity of autoimmune disorders as broadly. Since I have been trained as a rheumatologist, I have a special interest in the study of rheumatic disease development and pathogenesis. In 2016, before finishing the degree in Medicine I obtained the "Laboratory Practices" scholarship from the Spanish Association Against Cancer developed at the Research Institute of the La Paz University Hospital. In 2018, at the end of my entrance exam for specialized health training, I took a training stay at the CIMA of the University of Navarra where I worked under the supervision of the Drs. Luis Montuenga and Rubén Pío studying different molecular mechanisms and cells of lung cancer, as well as studying new therapeutic strategies to avoid resistance to immunotherapy (February – April 2018). Covid-19 pandemic has impacted my residency making it a difficult personal and professional period. Nevertheless, it has been also as an opportunity to contribute to understand the relationship between rheumatic disorders and outcome of patients with Covid-19. In 2022, I joined Dr Herold´s lab as a postdoctoral associate at Yale University. My research focus is to understand the impact of EBV infection in the pathogenesis of Type 1 diabetes and its impact in patient’s treatment outcomes.
